Bookings for Camping Narawntapu National Park are only taken for large school groups. Horse riders must provide the parks staff with at least 48hrs notice prior to bringing horses into the Narawntapu National Park. There are multiple campgrounds located in the Narawntapu National Park, being Springlawn, Bakers Point, Koybaa and The Horse Yards. National Parks Fees Apply – a self-registration system operates at the Narawntapu National Park Camping ground for campers arriving after the visitor centre closes and is available at the Springlawn Visitors Centre. Campgrounds have hybrid septic, chemical toilets. A number of campsites at each campground have tables. Fuel stoves are recommended; fire bans can be imposed without warning in this area, particularly during summer. There are excellent septic toilets at Springlawn, a shower block (fees apply) with tokens available for purchase from the visitor centre and powered sites and electric barbecues. The park is easily reached from either Devonport or Launceston. Please note Badger’s Head is a day-use-only area and has picnic facilities including a barbecue, tables and shelter but no toilet. The Narawntapu National Park was previously known as the Asbestos Ranges National Park and is on the coast to the west of the harbour of Port Dalrymple, between Port Sorell and Greens Beach. Inland from the coast is an unspoiled area of land offering excellent bushwalking options. At the visitor centre at Springlawn, you will also find a public telephone, picnic and toilet facilities. Picnic tables and fireplaces are also located at Griffiths Point, Bakers Point and Badger Head campsites and all have toilets. At Springlawn there are electric barbecues – this campsite is also suitable for bigger rigs. Toilets with disabled access are located at Springlawn, Baker’s Point and Horseyards campground.
