Beginners Bay Camping Shannon
Beginners Bay Campground fly fishing central highlands of Tasmania close to Penstock Lagoon and near Miena, Shannon with app. 5 small sites, 2 that are good for tents or a small RV, camper-trailer, rooftop tent, campervan only. There are a few good campsites at Beginners Bay but you need to reverse down the tracks as there is limited turning room for larger vehicles. There are no facilities at this campground, it is used mostly by fishermen fishing Penstock Lagoon. Campers need to be fully self-sufficient to camp at Beginners Bay. Pets are OK – please keep them under control as there is lots of wildlife in this area. Beware of snakes during warmer months, and just take care as this campground can be the subject of anti-social behaviour at times. Not recommended unless you are planning to fish and fully self-contained.
